The people who became known as the Romulans split off from the Vulcans approximately 2000 years ago, perhaps during the time of Surak. They settled the planets Romulus and Remus. Romii was another colony. The planet Romulus was known for the firefalls of Gal Gath'thong, the Valley of Chula, and the Apnex Sea. Rateg was a city on Romulus.
